Originally from Osaka, Japan, I developed a love for Japanese arts at a young age, practicing traditional dance, flower arranging, and tea ceremony. Growing up wearing kimonos often, I became captivated by the beauty of colors and patterns. My career as a visual merchandiser for high-end brands took me around the world, from Tokyo and New York to Shanghai, Italy, Los Angeles, and Florida. Following my marriage, I relocated to Lake Tahoe on the Nevada-California border, where I now paint, inspired by the vast natural surroundings. My work is often influenced by the bears that occasionally wander into our yard and my husband, who affectionately resembles one.
Why Chilipepper you may ask?
It is my nickname, as I am told I can be Spicy.
Being my name can be challenging to pronounce,
when I started painting, I thought it would be fun to use my nickname.
